Follow Jesus. I want to be a follower of Christ. I want to be one of His disciples.

In this website we will explore the teachings of Jesus, and following Him. But, we need to start with an awareness that Jesus never expected us to be able to live according to His teachings on our own! If we simply apply His teachings legalistically, and by willpower, we have not found the essence of His teachings and His will.

The Inner Circle of disciples had the benefit of Jesus with them to guide them, encourage them and correct them. Well, Jesus has a plan for us. He has not left us alone to sort things out by ourselves. He has given us His Holy Spirit. The indwelling Holy Spirit gives us the ability to be who Jesus wants us to be and to do what He wants us to do. He is our Comforter and Guide. He is Grace working in us. Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?

In discipleship.net we will explore the Kingdom of God and the Parables of Jesus. We will examine the Hard Sayings of Jesus.

There is only one solution to our human condition .. it is the redeeming deliverance of Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus Christ is our only Point of Reference and His Words are our guide for faith and living.

The Gospel of the Kingdom is: Whoever will believe in Jesus Christ, and will obey and follow Him, has entered into the Kingdom of God and has received eternal life and the power to walk in righteousness by the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God is a dynamic, real, alternative society existing alongside this world's culture, having another King - Jesus. Followers of Jesus are citizens of this Kingdom and therefore live as "resident aliens" in human society and nations.

Salvation comes through obedient faith in Jesus Christ. We are not only saved from the penalty of sin, but the Salvation of the Lord includes overcoming the power and practice of sin through the empowerment of His Word and His indwelling Holy Spirit. The most important reality of our faith is experiencing God's work in us to enable us to live and be like Jesus.

Jesus said of His gathering of disciples: where two or three are gathered together 'in My Name', He is in the midst. That is sufficient. We are not to be called rabbi or leader or pastor, for we have One Teacher and Leader and Shepherd - Jesus of Nazareth - and we are all brothers or sisters. The only authority that exists in Jesus' Church is His Words. Men and women can only represent His authority by presenting His Word and doing His works. He is the Head, and every disciple is to be connected directly to Him. His Church is BEYOND WALLS, CONSTRAINED BY LOVE: His Love constrains us. His Spirit leads us into paths of righteousness. This is incredibly more than submission to ecclesiastical authority. It is submission to the King of kings and Lord of lords!

Our task is witnessing the Message and Person of our Lord Jesus Christ, and making disciples by teaching His Words.

All who are walking in obedient faith to Jesus Christ and are born of His Spirit are members of His Church. Therefore, membership in an organization is irrelevant. Staying in fellowship with Christ, obeying His Words and being directly accountable to Him is the essence of being the church.
